The Burlington Chess Club will be in close relation to the VCL as many of our players are members of the club. The VCL will also strive to be a fair league, and provide fun USCF rated games for all who wish to get some.

The VCL will follow many of the tiebreak rules from the US Chess League. We will try to model ourselves after them as much as possible.

Welcome to the Vermont Chess League Information Site!

The Vermont Chess League(VCL) will be a league where team's compete against each other for a prize and bragging rights. The games played in the VCL will be USCF rated.

Thanks for visiting the official website for the VCL! Here you will find, teams, standings, contact information and even simplified rules for the league.

The VCL has officially started the setup stage. We have passed out most of our informaion packets to the canadite captains and are awaiting the team information! I would suggest to the Team Captains forming teams as of now, that getting players early is best! Its a free for all, so go get 'em! :)

All Team Captains must submit their official team name, and players list with average rating of their team. I will put them on the site and into the official league list.

Ok, so the league is coming together. We are gaurenteed to have at least 4 teams and probably 6. Which is a great number considering its our first year. Dave Carter and Brad Myers are lookig to find players for their teams. If you want to play please talk to them; they would be glad to see if they can get you on their team.

I am excited for the coming year. I think the League can be a great success if were all commited to it. USCF rated games are hard to find in Vermont and thats what the League hope to provide. The League looks to offer team play, rated games, tournament style and some good old fashioned fun. :)
